Samantha Sanderson Marshall

hello!
My name is Samantha and I am SMASH Design and Illustration. I've always loved being creative and count myself incredibly honoured to be able to do something I love for a living. I've been drawing ever since I can remember and have always been inspired not only by the artwork and design I seek out in the galleries and places I visit, but also fashion and nature.
I have a 1st class BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design. My work is predominantly illustrative and I am playful with colour and typography. All of my work starts out hand-drawn, either by pencil on paper or digitally on my iPad. From there, I develop and refine my designs using Adobe Creative Suite on my iMac. I am experienced in creating for both digital and print.
I have an eye for photography, studying this as part of my degree and now having my own Canon DSLR camera. I like to use my own images as stock in my designs and was nominated for doing just that with the 2022 Design for Print award at Brighton Fringe.
My book cover and TV work is what I am most proud of. Having over twenty designs of mine on books that sell in Waterstones, grace the shelves of the British National Library, Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Turning the TV on and seeing my work on the screen. Working with authors, scriptwriters and directors collaboratively, making visual art that translates their vision to an audience. This is something I am truely passionate about.
